Aponi Candles was founded by Monique Thomas in May of 2020. What started as a hobby for her in making candles gave her an idea to turn what she enjoyed into something for everyone. With the assistance of her best friend and children, they encouraged her to move forward. In May of 2021 she decided to make it into a full-time business.
Aponi Candles is a black women owned business. We make all natural products and find ourselves to be eco-friendly. In 2022 the company decided they wanted to offer more than just candles.
The business has three departments, candles, skin care and hair care. The Candle department is handled by Monique, where she creates new scents and for those that are spiritual, she uses herbs and essential oils in some of the spiritual candles. Skin care is also her department.
Ms. Thomas noticed the demand for lip balms, face/lip scrubs and moisturizers for those wanting to change their products in their daily routine or just to feel better about themselves.
The Hair care department is where Lona Lane, works her magic. Due, to the scalp conditions she faces, she made herself knowledgeable in creating oils for the scalp and hair. Ms. Lane has also been creating beard oils for those that need assistance with their facial hair growth.
The vision of Aponi Candles is to make natural products accessible to individuals seeking to enhance their everyday lives and improve their social experiences through our hair and skin care products. Our mission is to provide products for everyone in need, with a strong emphasis on well-being and self-care.

Our skin care line offers a range of products, from lip balms and scrubs to face moisturizers and serums, that cater to different skin needs. I’ve been using this oil for a few months now and all I can say is that it is amazing! The oil smells great. My hair feels very healthy at all times after each use.
It is probably the best hair product out there that I have used thus far, and I have tried many.
Glad that it is free of unnecessary and harmful chemicals, and it is loaded with goodies that benefit my hair and scalp.

I have finally found a product that works for me!!! I use Aponi’s Emerald Oil as a hot oil treatment and was in heaven. The next day my hair was very soft and tingly. The day after, I oiled my scalp with the Golden Hair Oil and not only do I find it very manageable but smell is amazing.
My hair is very thin and fine so it is quite hard to find hair oils that are not heavy for my hair. I must say I have struck gold for myself. I do hope the company has more products to offer!

I have been using the hair oil and I really like that after massaging it through my hair it makes it soft and easier to comb! It doesn’t feel overly oily. It makes my short natural hair more manageable. I will continue using this product because I like the results that I have gotten by using it.

A little goes a long way! I started implementing this oil into my beard routine along with my other products and now it has become my main oil! The smell is amazing and it’s doesn’t spread on greasy like a lot of the other oils. I’ll even let you in on my little secret, I use the leftover oil on my fingers on my kneecaps and elbows!

Oh My Goodness, I’m in love with the scented candle “Sweet Sensation”. The fragrance reminds me of cutting fresh fruit on a summers day. I highly recommend Aponi’s candles and I can’t wait to try more of their scented candles.

I have enjoyed using the Beard oil. What I do not like about beard oil is, “I do not like it because I like it” (lol). Sorry, that was just a little humor for the Oil Specialist. I use the oil 2-3 times a week. The problem I run into with other beard oils is it has been entirely too oily. I do not find this too oily it has the perfect amount of oils mixed together, and it does last on my beard. I will be ordering more beard oils from this company.

I have been using Vanilla body oil every day. It has a great balance with all the oils combined and the scent is amazing for those that like vanilla. It’s between baby oil and baby oil gel. I am not a big fan of looking shiny from miles away and I do not like the thickness of the gel. For my skin the oil stays with me, I have also mixed a little with my favorite lotion. So, I do hope they provide a lotion I can purchase that goes with my oil. I tried the body oil on my kids’ skin as well, so I have made it a part of our everyday routine.
